Volunteer Engagement Assistant

 

We are currently seeking Volunteer Engagement Assistants to enrich the day-to-day life of our residents, and help improve their quality of life.

 

What will I be responsible for?

  • Assisting the Engagement team in facilitating physical, social, spiritual, and mentally stimulating activities
  • Engaging residents in conversation and fostering a welcoming atmosphere during activities
  • Enhancing the resident’s independence and personal well-being by providing companionship and friendship, whilst building a meaningful connection
  • Communicating any concerns that may arise to the Clinical team

 

What are the requirements of the role?

  • Reliable and able to commit to at least 2 hours per week.
  • Completion / attendance of mandatory training modules annually or as prescribed.
  • Knowledge of dementia and behavioural management, or willingness to learn.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, as well as interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Confidence in public speaking and group leadership.
  • Confident in the use of technology, or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to adapt to a range of environmental circumstances.
  • Must hold a current National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Check.
