Our villages in Burradoo and Moss Vale are designed for residents needing greater assistance in their daily life. Aged care fees are broken into two areas: care fees and accommodation fees.
What you pay for residential care depends on your needs and your financial situation. Government support is available based on a comprehensive assessment done with you by an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT).
The accommodation fee is the amount you pay for your room. Harbison as a range of room types and prices for you to choose from based on your needs.
How much you pay is based on your income (i.e. your pension) and an assets assement. Some residents may have their accomodation costs met in full or part by the Government.
There are two ways you can pay your accommodation fees:
Option 1. Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD)
The Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) is the price of your accommodation. This price is set by Harbison and can be paid upfront, in full or in part. As a safeguard, the Government guarantees the repayment of your RAD in the event a provider is unable to refund the balance of your lump sum.
Option 2. Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP)
The Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) is the equivalent to the RAD but paid periodically instead of a lump sum. Your DAP is calculated by multiplying the determined RAD by the current government interest rate (MPIR) and divided by the number of days in a year. Please note, the DAP is not refundable.
Please use our helpful room price calculator to estimate the breakdown between your Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) and Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) based on the deposit you are able to make towards the RAD.
You will be able to download a PDF document that outlines your RAD and DAP fees based on your selected Harbison room/accommodation. This will also provide an overview of the other fees that can be involved when entering into Aged Care.
Please feel free to contact our Admissions Team any time to discuss your RAD and DAP fees, and any other fees that may apply. Just give us a call 02 4868 6200 OR 02 4868 6300
