Cycling Without Age Pilot (Volunteer)
We are currently seeking Cycling Without Age Pilots to provide free and safe rides on special eBike trishaws for older residents in the Southern Highlands community.
What will I be responsible for?
- Perform routine safety checks on the trishaws before each outing.
- Safely assist passengers with boarding and disembarking the trishaw, ensuring footrests, seatbelts and weather blankets/canopies are properly secured.
- Engage positively with passengers, offering companionship, actively listening to their stories and creating a joyful, respectful environment.
- Act as a positive representative of Harbison and Cycling Without Age when interacting with pedestrians, cyclists and the general public during rides.
What are the requirements of the role?
- Reliable and able to commit to at least 2 hours per week.
- Must complete the Cycling Without Age Pilot Training.
- Positive attitudes and values consistent with a person-centred approach.
- Strong relationship-building skills, as well as interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- Willingness to work with older people including the frail aged and people with a disability.
- Must hold a current National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Check.
- Must meet Child Protection Act requirements and hold a current NSW Working with Children Check clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
