Volunteer Lifestyle Assistant
We are currently seeking Volunteer Lifestyle Assistants to enrich the day-to-day life of our residents, and help improve their quality of life.
What will I be responsible for?
- Assisting the Leisure & Lifestyle team in facilitating physical, social, spiritual, and mentally stimulating activities
- Engaging residents in conversation and fostering a welcoming atmosphere during activities
- Enhancing the resident’s independence and personal well-being by providing companionship and friendship, whilst building a meaningful connection
- Communicating any concerns that may arise to the Clinical team
What are the requirements of the role?
- Completion / attendance of mandatory training modules annually or as prescribed.
- Reliable and able to commit to at least 2 hours per week.
- Confidence in public speaking and group leadership.
- Strong relationship-building skills, as well as interpersonal and communication skills.
- Confident in the use of technology, or willingness to learn.
- Ability to adapt to a range of environmental circumstances.
- Existing knowledge of dementia and behavioral management, or willingness to learn.
- Must hold a current National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Check.
- Must meet Child Protection Act requirements and hold a current NSW Working with Children Check clearance.
