World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2022
28 April is World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This year, we look at how we have built a positive safety and health culture at Harbison:
- We have a Work Health and Safety (WHS) Committee, who meet on a bimonthly basis to consult on work health and safety issues within the organisation
- We have reporting systems to report incidents, risks and hazards
- We have an Injury Management Coordinator to support injured workers to recover safely at work
- We have a dedicated Fire Safety Officer
- We follow safe work procedures and have a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) register
- All equipment is regularly tested and reviewed
- Staff undergoing mandatory training annually
- We are a workplace that values diversity and inclusivity, and do not tolerate bullying and harassment
- We provide a free Employee Assistance Program for staff and volunteers
- We welcome all feedback and have a system which can be accessed by all, overseen by our Complaints Officer
- We have a grievance policy and escalation processes
- We have an Infection Prevention & Control Coordinator to ensure we are prepared to prevent and respond to infectious outbreaks
- We provide free influenza vaccination clinics for residents and staff, annually
