World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2022

28 April is World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This year, we look at how we have built a positive safety and health culture at Harbison:

  • We have a Work Health and Safety (WHS) Committee, who meet on a bimonthly basis to consult on work health and safety issues within the organisation
  • We have reporting systems to report incidents, risks and hazards
  • We have an Injury Management Coordinator to support injured workers to recover safely at work
  • We have a dedicated Fire Safety Officer
  • We follow safe work procedures and have a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) register
  • All equipment is regularly tested and reviewed
  • Staff undergoing mandatory training annually
  • We are a workplace that values diversity and inclusivity, and do not tolerate bullying and harassment
  • We provide a free Employee Assistance Program for staff and volunteers
  • We welcome all feedback and have a system which can be accessed by all, overseen by our Complaints Officer
  • We have a grievance policy and escalation processes
  • We have an Infection Prevention & Control Coordinator to ensure we are prepared to prevent and respond to infectious outbreaks
  • We provide free influenza vaccination clinics for residents and staff, annually

HEALTH AND SAFETY AT HARBISON IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY
